Step 1 – Logging in, to your account is the first thing that you should do. Once you are logged in, go to the account menu at the top right corner of the page and click on privacy and settings.
Step 2 – After clicking on privacy and settings, LinkedIn may ask you to sign in again. If that happens, log in to your account by entering your username and password.
Step 3 – On the left sidebar, there is the “Account Tab” that has several options. From the options, select “Close Your Account.“
Step 4 – LinkedIn will be curious why you want to leave the platform and will ask to give a reason. Think carefully before choosing an option and be honest with the feedback.
Step 5 – LinkedIn will then give you the option to “Cancel” or “Verify Account.“ Select “Verify Account.“ You will be verifying that the account listed on that page is the one that you want to close. On the same page, LinkedIn informs you that within 24 hours of closing your account, it will be possible for you to create a new account using the same email address.
Step 6 – The next page will give you the option to “Cancel” or “Close Account“. In case you change your mind about deleting the account, you can click on “Cancel“. However, if you are determined to proceed, click on “Close Account“. Once you do that, the account will be logged out, and your profile erased, within 24 hours. You will also see a page confirming the closure of the account.
